Dive into an engaging evening of learning and connection, designed to boost your skills in sea kayak trip planning! You’ll explore key topics like chart reading, understanding weather forecasts, planning for tides, and managing water-based incidents—all while discovering the stunning scenery of Nova Scotia’s coastline. This exciting series features four unique sessions, each focused on a different theme.

Hosted by the welcoming 5K Cafe, this event is the perfect chance to meet fellow paddlers and share our passion for the sea. Leading the way is Christopher Lockyer, a Paddle Canada Level 4 sea kayak coach, supported by his experienced coaching team. With 28 years of expertise in navigating and planning along Nova Scotia’s coast and beyond, Christopher brings invaluable insights to the table.

Expect interactive, hands-on sessions. Bring your notebooks, charts, tablets, and most importantly, your adventurous spirit!

  • March 26 – Emergency Preparedness, Communication and Search and Rescue System
  • April 30 – Places to Paddle in Nova Scotia
